Harriet found some participants of group A at the meeting place waiting for her to practically teach them how to remove banana stems from the first demonstration stove (pastor Wilber’s stove). The stove had started developing cracks due to too much heat generated in the kitchen as a result of cooking on open flames . The participants were concerned why Wilber’s stoves had cracked. Harriet told them that it was caused by too much heat in the kitchen because the three stone open fire was placed near the newly built stove. She advised them to extend the open flames to avoid the fuel efficient stove from cracking further. She also told the participants that the stove need to e smeared immediately after removing banana stems also to stop the cracks from extending. Harriet removed banana stems as she explained the whole process to the participants.she also removed the dirt that was stuck inside to allow air to easily go through for the stove to be effective. She shaped the holes especially the one for firewood to create enough space that will be used to roast maize Incase there is need. She asked the participants to bring ash ,dirt,water and the basin so that she practically shows them how the stove is supposed to be smeared. She practically smeared the stove in order to stop it from cracking look neat and last longer. She also asked pastor to smear his stove every after two weeks for its durability. The participants wanted to know whether they can use the stove that very day and HARRIET told them to wait for more three weeks so that it dries very well. She also told them that if they rash to use it it will develop more cracks. When the participants show a complete stove they were excited and promised to stay working together until every one in the group gets a stove. Harriet told them that she will be returning to their village on Friday 11 September 2020 to teach participants in group B how to remove banana stems from their first demonstration stove in their group.
