Notes
Jeska and Diana went to Kalitumba to continue teaching participants in the lower section how to practically build stoves . They reached in the village and found the participants waiting at the meeting place. The participants had already selected a young boy Joseph to be the one to get the next stove. The reason why they chose Joseph is that,he is very active in the healthy and safe kitchen program . The participants said that even if he is too young to own a home the opportunity will be given to his mother .That added that since he Eats food from the mothers home the stove will directly benefit him. Jeska asked the participants to collect termite dirt from the anti hill.she asked the participants to practically mix the dirt at grass. This was intended to see whether the participants had learnt that process of building stoves. They perfectly did it. Jeska ,Diana together with the participants stamped the dirt until it was ready to be used to build stoves. Jeska build a stove as she explained the whole process to the participants. She also asked the participants to participate in building the stove especially building the foundation of the stove. She finished the remaining part of the stove. The participants thanked kibo staff for considering the lower section of the village which was earlier neglected. Kibo staff asked the participants to keep on practicing as she teaches them because practice makes perfect. She also told them that the goal of this program is to empower them with a skill of building stoves so that they can build of other people in their group.she also told them that once they learn building stoves, they can build in the neighboring communities in exchange of money thus economic development. She also gave them an assignment that next she come in the village she should find them when they have started stamping the dirt as a sign of commitment and also it will save time for building stoves on that day.
