Tom made a visit to kishaike village to hold a meeting with the committee members and share with them the results from their evaluations as well as share with them the way forward of the program in the village. When he arrived in the village, he found the chairman and other committee members conducting elections. They welcomed Tom in the meeting. This was a great opportunity for Tom to meet many residents in one place and it’s been hard to get residents for village meetings especially also some committee members. Tom shared with the village residents about the progress of the program as of the results from the chairman’s evaluation. The residents were very honest as most of them agreed that they have not yet constructed those facilities especially the hand washing stands. Some said they had constructed the dish racks but were rated by termites. Tom encouraged them not to construct dish racks by putting poles in the ground but rather construct them and put them on bricks to prevent termites from eating the poles. On the issue of the hand washing facilities, the residents said they are going to get cement and put on to their stands so that they can have those stands. After the meeting Tom shared the percentages of the village with the chairman as he read them to the residents. The chairman also pointed out some worse homes and encouraged them to improve. After the meeting Tom left and moved around to the lower section of the village with two committee members. They saw three new hand washing stands and also two new dish racks.

2020-09-16 - Purpose: To check and encourage residents on facility constructions and improvements. Tom will be also meeting with the committee members to discuss about the coming evaluations at the end of the month
