Notes
Suzan went to the village of bupeni to follow up on the maintenance of the program facilities such as the stove usage, construction of the kitchen roofs and firewood storages in the kitchens and smearing of the buildings. Although it was a voting day for some politicians, Suzan managed to find some group leaders who had not gone for voting that day at the meeting center. She briefly talked to them and they all agreed to visit a few homes especially those that needed to improve on their facilities as reported by the group chairperson. During the monitoring process, Suzan observed that some members had smeared their buildings besides the kitchens such as the shower areas, latrines and main houses. This was because in the previous meeting, Suzan encouraged family members such the elderly children and other relatives to see that they worked together as a family to improve on their home facilities instead of leaving the whole responsibilities to the mothers alone. Other members also smeared their stoves which had cracked all over with the help of fellow members because the very stoves were neglected when they stopped cooking as expected. About four members managed to construct the firewood storages in their kitchens although not with stronger poles together with their dish racks. Most men that Suzan wanted to talk to about constructing the kitchen roofs had gone to the voting centers and Suzan requested their wives to remind them to do so since the rainy had begun. This was to protect the rains from destroying some kitchen facilities such as the stoves and the high risen firewood storages. But because of time, Suzan thanked the members for improving on their facilities and promised to visit them in next planned meeting once everybody was around and free.
