Since two weeks ago when Alex locked up the borehole because of its poor management, the village leader, Kirya Moses and Mpongo Charles made constant phone calls to Alex begging him to visit their village and guide them how best the wall construction can be done and to guide someone who would be constructing the wall. He met with the village leaders and discussed about completing the borehole fence and talk about borehole management ways. One way that was agreed was that a new water user committee be formed to lead the borehole management. It’s very unfortunate that in only about seven months since the village started using this new borehole, the committee that the village selected had become inactive and the borehole become extremely very dirty. The village chairman this time round has committed himself to spear head the program and encourage the village to work on the remaining steps and to complete the new wall construction. The first wall fence was poorly constructed and was already falling down this is because they couldn’t follow our guidance during the construction like what Igerera B did. Alex was able to talk to another builder that the village leader has trusted to do a good job and Alex shared with him how this wall fence is to be constructed. This time round the village leader has shown a sign of being active and want to make sure all that is missing is done and have their borehole be reopened by Kibo group. Alex told the chairman that not until everything required is done before the borehole can be reopened. The village also needs to come together and form borehole bylaws to guide everyone using this well before commissioning of this new water source. Alex will keep in touch with the village chairman Mr. Mpongo to folllow up on what is being done by the village in making sure all the steps required are fulfilled before the borehole is reopened for community use.

2020-09-16 - Purpose: To make a call to the village chairman and follow up on the progress of steps to be met by the village and away forward before the new well is reopened for community use.
