Notes
Martin and Chris went to Igerera A, the purpose for the visit was to meet the village sanitation committee to prepare them for the forthcoming coming second evaluation, they carried 20 hand washing jerrycans therefore when they reached the village, they took some time off to check 20 homes who needed hand washing jerrycans , these homes had already constructed hand washing stands but they had not yet received their jerrycans because they had not plastered the hand washing stands yet, after giving out the jerrycans , Martin and Chris Joined the LC1 chairman and three members of his committee to the meeting. Martin handed over the evaluation forms to the chairman and encouraged the chairman to mobilize his committee and start the evaluation as soon as possible. The Chairman thanked kibo for improving sanitation standards in his community especially through encouraging locals to construct toilets and hand washing stands. The Chairman spoke of how the community was before kibo came in, he said the toilet coverage was so low , few homes had toilets and therefore open deification was rampant but when kibo came in and started sensitizing members about the dangers of not having a toilet and other sanitation facilities at home, every home has a toilet now except a few whose toilets collapsed due to rains but the wash team is encouraging them to construct strong ones. In the middle of the meeting a certain lady interrupted and requested Martin and Chris to visit her village too, she said her village is lagging behind as far as constructing toilets is concerned , Martin promised to take her matter to kibo office and have a thorough discussion about it however Chris advices her to go and talk to her community members about the dangers of not having a toilet at home instead of waiting for kibo. Martin will be going back to Igerera A on Monday 5/10/2020 to carry out second evaluation.
