Notes
When Tom arrived in the village for a meeting with the LC committee members, he found when some were waiting for him while some members had not yet come. They waited for a few more members and later the meeting started where they addressed the issue of sanitation and hygiene in the village. Tom also requested them to share about what the community has been thinking since the evaluation. The vhts said the community members have been demanding that they get taught about sanitation and hygiene. They also reported of a few residents who improved after the evaluation. Some residents had dug and constructed new facilities such as latrines and dish racks. After that, Tom addressed them and told them that teaching will be done soon. He also encouraged the committee to mobilise the community very well so that residents come to the triggering session. They also discussed about the dates and the village committee members suggested that they have one day for a joint mobilisation as the whole committee before the final day of triggering so that all residents are mobilised. They suggested late March or early April would be the best period because right now most of the village residents are busy in their gardens planting and clearing their gardens. Tom also supported the idea of forming a joint mobilisation committee and Mobilise the village for one day before the triggering date. After the meeting, Tom and some committee members visited some homes and found two new latrines almost finished. Tom encouraged them to complete their latrines well by roofing them and after Tom left for jinja.
