Notes
Enock made a visit to this community to check on the progress of the sanitation facilities under construction, monitor, encourage and evaluate, ensure standardization an community cooperation. I visited first made a visit to the local leaders homes since they are the leaders, they need to work so hard to be exemplary. During the visit in their homes, hand washing stations in their front yard of the house welcomed us, its constructed and have kibo jerrycans where everyone who enters there compounds has to first wash there hands, then I also saw another hand washing station just next to the latrine where everyone has to washing there hands after visiting or using the latrines. The chairman and local leaders also have teamed up to build hand washing stations in most of the homes and this has improved the cleanliness and hygiene in the community. There are also new latrines under construction, I saw about three new latrines which are under construction with good foundation, bricks and cement to make the structures strong. We encouraged the standardization of all the facilities, spoke about how important it is to use ash in latrines to chase flies and clean the floors as well, encourage the use of cement on shower areas as well as drainage systems called soak pits where water from the shower is collected. We also encouraged the children who are still in holidays to help there parent and participate more in the sanitation programs to improve on the hygiene since most of them are still home in holiday.
