Notes
Enock and martin made a visit to this community to continue sensitizing, monitor, evaluate the residents on the progress of sanitation and hygiene. When they reached, they walked around the teaching the residents and checking on the progress of latrine construction in homes which where still under construction, shower areas, kitchen areas, hand washing facilities, rubbish pits and more focus on dish racks since most homes in the second evaluation lacked dish racks. We walked in homes encouraged the residents to construct good and strong dish racks as we guided them on how to construct them. Most people had challenges of termites destroying their dish racks we gave them an ideas of not placing the dish racks in the ground but placing them on top of rocks or brick so that termites don’t have a chance to destroy the poles. There are some homes which we showed how to construct good and standard dish racks. We also continue checking on the latrines which are under construction. There has been a good response from the community leaders and residents who have greatly embraced the program and working towards achieving the their targets. The families which didn’t have proper showers where encouraged to also construct up to standard. We taught about the dignity of someone and how it’s so important to have a properly constructed shower areas. There is also continuous hand washing improvement going on in most of the homes. Most homes are constructing two hand washing stations, one at the front yard and the other next to the latrine so that people continue washing their hands daily.
