Healthy and Safe Kitchens
Notes
Suzan went to the village to follow up on the improvements of the healthy and safe kitchens facilities and also prepare them for the first evaluation process. When she reached there, she went to the group chairperson’s home and found him there with other members. She was warmly welcomed and they sat down together began discussing about some program activities going on so far. The chairperson went ahead and informed Suzan how other members had improved on their facilities such as repairing their kitchen roofs, smearing their buildings and stoves and putting up stronger firewood storages. A few kitchens needed to be roofed because they were still leaking from up which could easily destroy the stoves once it rains. The committee group members promised to assist in reminding the other members to improve on all the facilities most especially the kitchens which were poorly roofed or with less grass so that they would be evaluated very soon. Some members who participated in the program activities but didn’t have good kitchens by then, managed to construct them with the help of their family members or fellow members. Together they walked and visited some homes which had improved on some facilities although the buildings needed to be smeared. Suzan encouraged the members to see that they maintained all their facilities for a good healthy living with their families. She also thanked them for working together as a team and wished them well.
