Notes
Jeska went to the village to follow up on the progress of the healthy and safe kitchens activities such as building stoves, smearing of the buildings and construction of the firewood storages. When she reached there, she was welcomed by some members who participated in the program lessons and among them was the group chairperson. They sat down together and first discussed about the activities going on so far and the challenges they faced mostly. One of the activities was building stoves for the new members who managed to construct kitchens within the village yet they had previously participated in the program activities. The main challenges that they were facing was the rains which kept on washing off the smeared dirt from most buildings and also blew off the kitchen roofs. They members decided to hold on a bit until the rains reduced then they would continue repairing their facilities. As they walked around Jessica observed that most members had also managed to put up the firewood stands inside their kitchens and saved enough firewood on them which was so impressive. Jessica kept on encouraging the members to improve on all their facilities so that they would live a happy healthy life with their families and get rid of several diseases. Naisamula was one of the villages where most homes had very poor facilities at the beginning of the program implementation, but managed to improve on them after sensitizing the community. Jessica thanked each member for the unity and teamwork during the activities and then wished them a happy stay.
