Notes
HARRIET and Tape went to Ituba Namalowe to teach participants how to build stoves. This time they were to guide participants as they build stoves on their own. They reached and found the participants have gathered at the meeting place at the home where the stove was to be built. The participants had already finished to stamp the dirt that will be used to build a demonstration stove. They had all the materials needed to build stoves in place. These materials are banana stems, two old saucepans and a panga. This was the first sign to show that participants are eager to learn and committed to participate. Kibo staff thanked them for stamping the dirt before kibo reached their village which showed that they can learn very first because practice makes perfect. The participants went a head and make balls out of the dirt and later moved them into the kitchen where a stove was to be built . Kibo staff asked the participants to try to build a stove as they guided them. The participants tried but their major challenge was they made a very big foundation for the stove. Also were it came to measuring banana stem they measured very long banana stems that will lead to too much firewood used to cook food thus being ineffective. Kibo staff corrected their mistakes and asked them to keep on trying because practice makes perfect. The participants thanked kibo for being patient with and correcting their mistakes. They promised to keep on practicing until they perfect the skill.
