Notes
Ida and Diana, went to Nawandyo A to continue with the lessons which was domestic violence. Ida started with a recap of the previous lesson, the group was very active and they remembered everything that was taught the previous week. Ida asked for the sticks she had sent them the previous week for demonstration, they handed them to her and she requested for four people in the group to help in the demonstration process. She started teaching them, they really enjoyed and kept on asking questions, which she answered very well. Diana carried on with domestic violence lesson, asked them about the causes and effects of domestic violence which they listed, like too much jealousy, rumor mongering, fornication. This was a good start, I added on jealousy, belittling the spouse before his or her friend, blaming others all the time, heavy drinking, disrespect, poverty. Diana continued with the effects of domestic violence, which are; loss of family property, leads to street kids, sleeping and eating disturbances, divorce, death, having suicidal feelings. The topic became so interesting that every one was too active. Every one was open minded, they openly shared their stories about their spouses and children. One said, that when he scolds the daughter, the mother complains, he thanked Kibo for bringing such lessons in the community. Told them that next week will handle, what should be done to reduce on domestic violence in their community.
