Notes
Jeska and Tape went to Igerera B village to follow up on the stove building progress, stove usage, smearing of the home facilities and construction of firewood risen stands. They reached in the village and found when the participants were busy building stoves they had just finished to build the first stove and were busy building the second one. In this village there are two active men that is Kamya Charles and Manabi. These act as the ambassadors in the village who lead in the process of stove building. Jeska and Tape as soon as they reached in the village it started raining heavily which lasted for about Four hours. The only chance was participants had already finished stamping the dirt for the second stove and had moved it in the kitchen. So kibo staff joined them in the kitchen and guided them on how to build a stove. The challenge was the women passively attended but entertained the men as they built stove. They tried to build but still have not yet mastered how best to measure the banana stem between the two cooking pots which would create a very big distance between the two cooking pots thus taking longer for the fire to move from the big pot to the small pot thus the stove being ineffective. Kibo staff corrected their mistakes and encouraged them to always be mindful about that. They also encouraged them to keep on practicing because practice makes perfect. They had also planned to follow up stove usage, smearing and construction of firewood risen stands which they were unable to accomplish because of the heavy rains.
