Notes
Irene went for bupeni to follow up on the general hygiene, mothers with their babies, pregnant women, small gardens as taught in the health lessons as she was phasing out to another village. Irene was welcomed by the VHT with whom they moved to several homes, checking on the mothers that had given birth, the vegetable gardens, counseling each family according to the weakness they had identified. Irene together with the VHT moved to one of the members who had not yet embraced the stoves because her husband has not yet built her a kitchen, she has 8 children with one room house where she sleeps with her children and only have one meal per day. Irene talked to this family about family planning, encouraged her to put up small vegetable gardens, and encouraged both the husband and wife about the importance of having a safe firewood saving stove and having a family planning method that will take them some time to raise the children they have. Irene after several visits informed the VHT that she may take some time without checking on them but encouraged her to keep moving around encouraging families to put the lessons covered into practice and that she will be making calls to find out on the village status.
