Mvule Community Development
Notes
Abraham and Chris met forty five community members and the purpose was to take 200 Mvule seedlings and 200 Musizi. They first went to Iwemba sub county in Bugiri and met the CDO, they gave ten trees to the CDO to be planted at the sub county offices and gave Iwemba secondary school ten trees to plant at the school land. They went to Kazimbakujira village and the chairman thanked Kibo for bringing the trees to plant, he said that the population of Kazimbakujira village is one thousand people. He added that they have two bore holes to serve such a big number. Abraham and Chri gave the village trees to go and plant them They received three hundred and eighty trees to plant among the village members. Those who were around took their trees and those who were not around their trees were left with one of the village counselor and they will pick them when they get time. They received the news around 2pm that the government has arrested the opposition Bobi wine contesting for President sit in Luuka district. They again heard that all roads are blocked because people are demanding the government to release Bobi wine if not they are going not to allow any vehicle to move. They were told by a village chairman Mr John to leave to JInja. They reached the main road and many cars were parked along side the road fearing the demonstrators. It took them eight hours from Iganga to JInja and they reached JInja at 10 pm. It was a crazy day because everywhere there was tear gas, live gun shots, burning cars they blocked the road with huge stones but one of the demonstrators told Abraham to give him water which he did and told the others to leave them to go. They passed Iganga town while the soldiers are shooting and with smoke of burning tires.
