Notes
Martin and Enock went to this community to continue checking on the community members who are constructing new latrine facilities to construct good and strong foundation, guide them to construct proper sanitation facilities as well as maintenance of the old facilities. There is an old man on The Who for a long time had dug a pit latrine hole but had not yet constructed on it. It was such a great visit meeting with him building the structure on it. The wife was super excited because she was tired of using the neighbors latrines. She appreciated Enock and Martin as well as the local leaders for not giving up on them. The community members have continued embrace the sanitation and hygiene program and working hard to improve standards of living. We also saw some new dish rack construction, hand washing stands although some people where asking for jerrycans, we also saw some new shower facilities which had just been done. There is a home which for a long time in the trading center of this village used to run away since they had no proper latrine and had a big challenge of hard bedrock to dig a latrine hole. Today when we visited, the man boda guy called Isima called us to guid them how to construct a strong foundation for their new latrine pit. They paid someone who came and dug 15ft deep latrine hole where he had to use pix axes penetrate in the rock. Encok guided them how to make a firm foundation for the structure as Martin was busy teaching the construction of hand washing stands as well as encouraging the washing hand before and after visiting the latrine. During the visit, we also walked in the homes of all the leaders to also remind the on the core values of good sanitation and hygiene, talked about the standardization of all the facilities as well encouraging them to talk the lead in promoting proper sanitation in their village.
