Notes
David , Martin along with Steven were in Busene village. And their intentions of going there was to engage the village through the triggering session. Before they reached the village they first visited Namutumba police station to get one police officer mis kabuni Jamila who tagged along with them up to the Nsinze subcounty before reaching the village. At the Nsinze sub county they were not able to came along with the health assistant mr mugoya jumah . Instead mr mugoya jumah gave them his representative who was an agricultural officer. The two governmental officials escorted the kibo staff up to the village. They found when the village chairman had already organized the venue for the triggering session. Because of the on and off on going rains some of the members had left. Fortunately when they had about the kibo,s arrival in the village , the chairman mr Mudaki Paul sent the different mobilizers into the different homes for those who had came on earlier and left . The different mobilizer we’re moving home to home encouraging everyone not to miss the triggering. In one and a half hour the many residents had gathered. And according to the general village attendance list there was 60men and 46 ladies who attended. David started the triggering session with an opening prayer which was led by one of the moslem leader followed by the hearing from the kibo staff. David told the members why it was important to engage them into the triggering. He told them that it was because of the lower baseline survey results . Therefore it gave the kibo a bigger hand to engage the village through the triggering. After all that David invited the village chairman to give his fewer remarks because the limited time factor. Mr Mudaki Paul thanked the kibo for loving his village and also he invited the police officer who gave her a brief sensitization. Miss kabuni jamila told the village that they loved them as police,s responsibility when they were alive and not always sickly causing a lot of poverty. Later after all that miss kabuni Jamila invited the representative of the health assistant mr Yonasani musasizi who also emphasized about if at all the village members loved to stay longer on earth ,they should start practicing the safe water chain. He also continued and said that in order to reduce on the rate of poverty as it was the case in the village. The village should start living a healthier life. Avoiding the off and on diarrheal diseases. David continued with the triggering session and because the fecal matter was closer to where they had gathered. Therefore there was no need for the walk of shame. Instead Martin kibuka enganged the village into the mapping of the village. After that he brought the fecal matter and the food closer in order for David to demonstrate the food and fecal matter calculation. David explained how open deification was dangerous and harmful to the people around, water sources ,how flies transfer feces from one point to the other . David said that we eat feces not knowing that we are eating from one host to the other. David asked about the residents which diseases they would get after living in the places where open deification was in existence. The residents answered that these where the diseases, bilharzia, typhoid, dysentery, trachoma and cholera. After all that David went ahead and engaged the members into the death expenses and cost. David also encouraged the members on how to prevent from the above diseases. In so doing he was teaching the members about the sanitation facility standardization. Basing on the fact that life was not worthy any thing. David also guided the members when coming up with the volunteers who were willing to act as sanitation committee members. Twelve members volunteered to be the sanitation committee members. And out the twelve members five were ladies and the seven were men. Later David explained to the residents that because of the much love kibo had for them ,they were to give the members the Shovels and pick axes they had bought for the village . The kibo did that because they wanted to kind of speed up the work of digging the latrine pits . The village was extremely happier and one member even prayed for the kibo,s longer stay. David ended up the triggering session when the members had set a deadline for themselves of the three months. Because of the limited time factor they ended the triggering meeting with a prayer which was led by the vice chairman.
