Notes
Kibo staff reached in this village and found a few people at the meeting place. They decided to walk with them around the village because the main goal was to see how the community has sustained Kibo programs. They walked through over 15 homes and found out that they all had maintained their home facilities and the stoves were being used on daily basis and this was proved by the absence of three stones or ash in the other side of the kitchen. They also found food cooking by itself as the people were busy in the gardens planting crops. They also walked to the swamp where the community used to get water before Kibo gave them a well and the swamp is drying out because the community abandoned it after getting clean water from the well that Kibo gave them. One member Jennifer told Kibo staff that" you see even the road leading to the swamp died , we no longer clean the swamp because we have clean water from the borehole ". They told them that they used to suffer from diarrhea related diseases since the time they got a well they stopped suffering from such diseases. They said that even their medical expenses reduced because they rarely fall sick. The community also use the well to make bricks that have helped them to raise some money .They have also taken good care of their mvule trees and goats. They later gathered in the meeting where Henry encouraged them to think of other programs that they can do on their own and Kibo staff will be guiding them to make informed decisions. This triggered the community's mind and they said that they will think about it. He also told them to start thinking about the celebration because Kibo has holistically approached this village.
