Notes
David and Steven were in kirwanire village. And their intentions of going there was to continue following up on the facility construction and the improvements. As well as preparing the village leaders for the next coming second evaluation . As they were in the village they were joined by mufumbiro Gerald the parish councilor and the area defense who led them into the different homes . They moved in about 62 homes following up on the different facility constructions and the improvements. However David and Steven,s emphasis was on the homes which were still lagging behind .Also in the homes whose facilities were currently affecting by the on going rains. Out of the different homes they moved to this is what was noted . For the first time when David reached kalulu Magidu,s home ,the most stubbornest he was so receptive and surprisingly enough Kalulu Magidu was pleading for David to visit his home first and he sees the much improvements on his latrine pit which was under good progress . So when David accepted to visit Kalulu Magidu,s home ,before visiting the other homes, David was extremely happier to see that kalulu had dug a 20 feet deeper pit by himself. Now that he was back into his senses than before, it was the greatest joy for David one sinner to reform . When he asked David of any advise about the new pit he had dug ,and there was good conversation full of joy and cooperation David advised him to dig and add five feet more than the 20 feet to make it 25 feet deeper . David continued and explained to kalulu Magidu that it wasn’t good always to waste more energy now and again repeatedly digging another pit when the one in place gets filled up easily due to the digging of lesser latrine pit depth. It was greater happiness that kalulu had agreed to add 5feet more on the 20feet he had dug before as he was advised by David. Also Kalulu Magidu,s wife the one he had transferred to the neighboring village because he didn’t want to dig a pit latrine in his home and the David and Steven used to frequent his home for more sanitation encouragements was back in Kalulu,s home . Likewise kalulu Magidu,s wife was thankful for all the advises and the different conversations before the progress they had in their home . After all that success ,David requested kalulu Magidu to a company them to the remaining two homes of kiyaye Kaija and mukwata Mohamed. These two members had dug latrine pits of 20 feet deeper some time way back-but they dint want to put a shelter on them. Therefore David used kalulu the one the community used to say that he wouldn’t reform to change kiyaye kaija and mukwata Mohamed. As they were in kiyaye and mukwata Mohamed,s homes kalulu Magidu was advising them to use good construction materials for example burnt bricks and stronger wood logs as he was also planning to do likewise in his home . David also advised kiyaye kaija and mukwata Mohamed that do it once when using good construction materials in order to create future sustainability. In both the two homes mentioned above they were reminded of constructing hand washing stations and even showed them where to position them closely to the pit latrine for easier accessibility and the good usage. As David was doing all the above he had told Steven to move home to home in the lower section in order to count the number of homes which had finished plastering their hand washing stands using cement. Steven told David that they were 45 homes in the lower section. And the 13 had not yet done the plastering. Therefore as the village was getting ready for the second evaluation, the remaining homes were reminded of plastering the hand washing stations in order to meet the required sanitation standards . Hence getting better results during the second evaluation. Because of the limited time factor,David and Steven left the village leaders with an assignment where by they were supposed to encourage those who had not yet plastered the different hand washing stands to do so before the next coming second evaluation . Also they were reminded of encouraging the residents to stay in their respective homes for only one day for the smoother evaluation process.
