Notes
Suzan went to the village on Friday to follow up on the stove building progress especially at the lower section of the village. When she got there, she went to the chairperson’s home who happily welcomed her to the village. She briefly informed Suzan what was going on in the village, the activities carried out so far. She said that some old members managed to build stoves for eight members who didn’t have kitchens by then, while others didn’t have enough grass for building the improved stoves. This was one of the challenges they faced especially during the rainy seasons. Later after four group members came and together they agreed and went to visit the new members who received the new improved stoves. Suzan was pleased to see that the members had also smeared all their buildings and built the firewood storages inside their kitchens. As they walked around the village visiting different homes, Suzan observed that some of the facilities such as the kitchens, shower areas and latrines got destroyed by the previous heavy storms. She kept on encouraging the members not to lose hope and also to use stronger materials for constructing the facilities so that they lasted longer especially during the heavy rains. She thanked everyone for involving themselves in the program activities and having a good teamwork spirit of working together as a team. The members promised to improve on some facilities as soon as the rains stopped, and Suzan left the village because the weather was changing faster.
