Notes
Harriet and Tape went to Ndalike village to guide participants to form a leadership committee that will coordinate the healthy and safe kitchen program. They reached in the village and found when the participants had not yet gathered at the meeting place. They decided to walk home to home mobilizing participants for the meeting. Later own the participants turned up for the meeting. Who ever was coming for the meeting would first wash his or her hands which was a good act to prevent covid 19.The meeting begun with an open prayer that was led by Mugote Goerge who thanked the lord for providing kibo staff journey mercies to and from the village. The chairperson LC1 Anthony thanked everyone for turning up for the meeting , he also reminded them to always keep time when ever they are called upon for the meeting. He welcomed kibo staff to share with the community the topic for the day. Kibo staff reminded the participants about covid 19 and encouraged them to always wear masks during meeting , ensure that they practice social distancing to avoid being infected or affected by covid 19. Harriet asked the participants to chose a committee that will coordinate the healthy and safe kitchen program. In the beginning the women were hesitant to take own leadership positions. Kibo staff reminded the women that this program directly benefit them there fore they need to own leadership once they are being chosen. She also told them that communities where both men and women actively participated were very successful in the program implementation. She also encouraged Ndalike community also to be cooperative to achieve good results. After a long debate a committee of eight people was elected where by it involved six women and two men. She also encouraged the community to be cooperative with the committee to ease the the work. The participants promised to be cooperative and also the committee to act as a link between kibo and the community. They also shared contacts between the committee and kibo staff for easy coordination.
