Enock and Martin made a visit in this community to continue teaching, monitoring, encouraging, guiding, promoting good sanitation standardization of all the facilities, emphasize hand wash construction and usage. We visited the homes in the trading and met with one lady called Jane Bugonzi who was smearing her new latrine and also working on the new shower area. There is also a lady called Annet Namutwa who operates operates a small Bar in the town and for a while she didn’t have a latrine for her customers to use as well as hand washing stand. The good news is she has taken the initiative to understand and learn the importance of having proper sanitation facilities and today she was so happy to show us her new latrine, shower area and two new hand washing stands one at the bar area and one constructed near the latrine. She was so happy expressing her gratitude and appreciation for the good lessons of behavioral change. We continued walking around to Samanya’s home who has also completed digging a 30 ft deep latrine, Enock guided him how to construct using good and strong materials like cement, sand and burnt bricks but most of all to make a strong foundation. As he busy working in his new latrine, Martin encouraged his children to construct a hand washing stand and also dig a rubbish pit. The chairman LC1 has finally constructed his new hand washing stand and his new shower area. There has been a great improvement in sanitation and hygiene in this community.
