Notes
Harriet went to Ndalike village to guide participants to form policies that will govern the healthy and safe kitchen program in order to promote active participation. She reached in the village and did not find any one at the meeting place. After a few minutes some participants started coming at the meeting place. The meeting begun with an open prayer that was led by Sarah Baseke who thanked the lord for enabling them to come for the meeting. The chairperson LC1 Mr. Anthony thanked kibo for the development they have brought in their village right from water sanitation and hygiene program to the Healthy and safe kitchen program. He also thanked the participants for have come for the meeting and left other home duties they had for the day. He asked kibo staff to lead the participants through the meeting. Kibo staff begun by appreciating the participants for having turned up for the meeting. She told the participants that the meeting is going to be community center where by they are going to discuss factors that may fail the program implementation and to suggest the possible solutions. This was a very interesting topic that attracted every one to participate and the responses were: Time management. Participants said that some participants always come late to the meeting which may force kibo staff to repeat what she has already tought. It also makes the meeting to take longer instead of talking a few hours. Some participants suggested that the meeting should always begin at 12:00pm and who ever come after 12:00 pm should pay a fine of Ugx 1000. Where as others suggested that a fine of Ugx 500 should be charged. One participants called Rehema Tatyaise said that what will happen if this member kept on coming late and keeps on paying a fine yet the group has already built for him or her a stove. The participants said that fine should work for the first three times and it should be in or form of either fetching water that will be used to build stoves for the day or collect termite dirt Incase the person had not yet got a stove but Incase a member has a stove already it should be dismantled so that he or she also loses the stove. Absentism. The participants suggested that if a member misses a meeting with out any communication though the Healthy and safe kitchen program committee should be charged to fetch water a termite dirt to build the next stove. If he does it for more than three times he/ she should be expelled from the group. Failure to cook on the fuel efficient stove. The participants suggested that if a member gets a stove and fails to cook on it . It should be dismantled and the owner expelled from the group. Harriet thanked the group for forming up those policies . She also encouraged them to love and respect one o other for the program to be effective.
