Notes
Alex together with the village chairman Mr. Charles Buyinza and the sanitation committee members moved home to home mostly in the homes that had not met the required sanitation standards as reflected in the recent evaluation. These homes are being encouraged too to meet the required sanitation standards in the village before transitioning the village into the water program. There were good observations in many of the homes seeing new facilities under construction and others had been completed in visits that were made in the homes. For example Muyingo had completed constructing a new pit latrine and were encouraged to roof it. The number of new dish racks have also increased in the village as well having seen more than 10 new dish racks in the homes visited. Most of the homes visited are those that had reflected to miss some of the required facilities from the third evaluation that was conducted in Butabira of recent. The water and sanitation committee were encouraged by Alex to put emphasis on those people that haven’t met the required standards and there is surely a great improvement made so far. Alex also followed up on the homes that recently received hand washing jerrycans to encourage them use these Jerrycans given by Kibo group for the right purpose of washing their hands. The number of people with hand washing facilities has increased also in the village and Alex will plan to update the changes seen in the third evaluation before the Christmas break and prepare the village for a way forward to drill a new well in the village next year as Kibo returns to work. The water and sanitation committee has been encouraged to continue engaging all village residents to meet the sanitation standards at all times and encourage all water users towards contributing money towards their borehole wall fence constructions.
