Notes
Harriet went to Naibowa village to follow up on the stove building progress and maintain an entire of other program facilities. She reached in the village and she was welcomed by the vice chairperson LC1 parstor Wilber and the chairperson for the healthy and safe kitchen program Ms Nabirye Juliet. They told her that from the time kibo last visited their village they have now built more four stoves on their own. Harriet inspected the stoves and were built well. Harriet encouraged them to keep on building stoves to make sure that every one in the group gets a stove. She also reminded them to make sure that before a member gets a stove should smear his or her facilities first because at times when people get stoves before smearing at times they don’t smear at all. The participants told Harriet that before a member gets a stove must smear his or her facilities. They added that there is a member who wanted a stove but had not smeared her kitchen and for them as the group they denied her a stove. The woman did not understand it instead she became violent abused them saying that they have denied her a stove yet she has been working with them in the group. Harriet decided to go meet this woman remind her on the importance of smearing her kitchen. She also wanted to reconcile the two parties so that they can work together in harmony. After Harriet talking to her she understood the value of smearing, she apologized before the group, begged for forgiveness and promised to smear her facilities and continue working with the group.
