Ida and Diana went to Kasuleta to teach about layers mash(feeds) in Mr. Kigaiga’s home. Kigaiga was very happy and receptive. He keeps promising how he is going to be an admired person because of the poultry keeping. He wants to be a living example in his community. Ida and Diana encouraged him to keep up that spirit. Ida also encouraged other members to emulate such a hard working spirit from Mr. Kigaiga.
Ida taught about the measurements of the feeds to be given to the hens, and they are as follows:
Maize brand 69-2 kg
Cotton seed cake 18kg
Mukden 5kg
Amasonko 6.8kg
Pre- mix( layers premix) 300gms
Salt 300gms
Ida also taught Kasuleta members the table and ratio of feeds. The table contains all the measurements of how much food should be given to how many chics and how heavy will the chics be at any stage.
