Notes
Harriet went to Ikumbya to follow up on smearing of the home facilities ,construction of firewood risen stands and stove usage. This was a surprise visit because she wanted to find the level of sustainability of the healthy and safe kitchen program. She reached in the village and started walking home while checking on their home facilities. Interestingly most participants visited were using their stoves on daily basis and this was evidenced by absence of three stones fire in the kitchens and finding some people cooking on their stoves or even food cooking by itself. Also majority had smeared their home facilities in preparation for Christmas except a few participants who had not yet smeared their home facilities and Harriet encouraged them to smear them so that they last longer and look neat. As far as construction of firewood risen stands most participants have constructed firewood risen stands well stocked with firewood. They said that since they are approaching Christmas season they are not worried of firewood because they have stocked enough firewood in their kitchen. The participants thanked kibo for empowering them with a skill and encouraging them where they have always made mistakes . They equated it to God’s love.
