Notes
Enock and Martin made a visit to this community to continue promoting, teaching, encourage, guiding, mobilizing the residents to continue improving on their sanitation and hygiene of there village. Most homes have been spending a lot of time in there gardens since it’s been raining. Although there has been a lot of rains, Enock encouraged them to also work on there facilities more so those homes who don’t have dish racks, hand washing stands to complete and focus on also those homes which are still lagging behind like for one boba guy who doesn’t have a latrine. The wife gave us direction where he stages and we planned to go have a talk to him, sell him the idea of proper sanitation. During the visit, we also encouraged the local leader to continue engaging the residents, empower and mobilize the residents for the next two weeks since kibo will be on Christmas holiday. The chairman and VHTs are so empower and embraced the program, they are will to take the lead and move the program forward. They promised to communicate to us about any new changes. There are so many new latrines built by bricks and cement, dish racks, kitchen areas, hand washing stands although some people have bought cement to smear the stands, we encouraged the two buy at least 2-3 kilos of cement and mix it with sand build strong hand washing stands. We are so happy to see great changes and behavioral changes in this community. There has been increase in sanitation and hygiene levels, proper maintenance of the facilities, use of ash in latrines. The group of women who are part of the sanitation team continue appreciating the great work that has been done in there community.
