Introduction Since the election period, Kibo has not been going to the villages for fear of any insecurities post election. This being the first visit since , Lorna went to Mpumiro village to find out how the situation is on ground and strategies how the program will operate in this village. Overview The meeeting started with an opening prayer and thereafter not to waste a lot of time, the chairman introduced all the leaders. After the introduction, the chairman gave a few remarks and then welcomed Lorna to address them. Lorna introduced herself and mentioned to them that to some she may be new to them but to others she is known. She also mentioned that in the community she may be new but at School, they are familiar with her and the Life Skills Program. Lorna met with 7 community leaders and during the course of the meeting, she went ahead and asked them how the election period is going and mainly about the last one. She was curious what people’s feelings were like and if they still had hurt feelings, whether they are working well together among others. The chairman mentioned that it was very peaceful everyone voted and went back to their homes. Another man Tom mentioned that they took this as a football match whereby there is always a winner or looser. Others like Fida and a Nabirye also mentioned that infact they thought the soldier at the polling station was mute or deaf because he did not even say a thing because they were peaceful. Lorna then asked does that mean if we were to call a meeting to start our lessons, the community members would attend with no problem? And they said yes. Lorna then introduced Life Skills Program to them and some of the topics entailed and thereafter asked for their reactions. Each one of the leaders gave their reaction like Muhamud said this will be very good for the purpose of uniting the families and creating good relations in the community. Fida mentioned also that there some things parents fear to discuss with their children and therefore learning how to do so will be of good help among others. After these remarks the chairman thanked Kibo for thinking of them and mentioned that they are willing to coperate. After meeting the community leaders, Lorna passed by the School( Mpumiro) where she met the new head teacher and the 2 Life Skills teachers. Since it was a new headteacher, it was nice that we met each other and talk about resuming when schools reopen. After that , Lorna met a few of the pupils of Primary seven and encouraged them to read very hard , ask questions, find all notes they did not have so as to prepare for the national exams come March 30 2021. She thanked them for keeping themselves from Covid and to continue and also thanked them for Keeping themselves and not being pregnant as many of their friends else where who unfortunately may drop out due to early pregnancies. After this visit Lorna left for Jinja. She met 12 girls and 2 boys. Conclusion We also chose a date, a day when the Life Skills Program will be happening an$ also in scenarios where she may teach at the School first and thereafter teach at the community. Lorna even mentioned duration of the program.Overall it was a great meeting and Mpumiro village is ready to start anytime.
