Introduction The purpose of this visit was to move home to home mobilizing the community members to attend the first community meeting scheduled for the coming week. Overview On arrival Lorna went directly to the chairman’s place where they would then set off to mobilise the community members. However he had gone to a nearby trading center and told Lorna on phone that he may not make it in time but he took it on himself to call the secretary to go ahead and move with me as we mobilise the community members. When the secretary Muhammad finally met Lorna, they exchanged greetings and then Lorna told him the plan of the day which was really go mobilise the community members to attend the next meeting scheduled Monday but also for the community members to see her face so they can be familiar with her on that day. Lorna and Muhammad moved in one particular section and were able to visit 20 homes. Muhammad introduced Lorna in all the homes as the next program and encouraged them to attend the coming meeting. Most of the people were either in the garden or at home peeling cassava as a family and other cassava was seen being dried on the ground. Conclusion After moving home to home we came back to the chairman’s place and while there Lorna encouraged Muhammad to ensure that they carry out another mobilization prior our scheduled meeting day. Muhammad said they will definitely remobilize. We also talked about school reopening and at this point we were joined by the chairman’s wife and 2 other people who mentioned that government needs to reopen schools as young girls are getting pregnant and married and one man said even those back at school, the attendance is low. This is really sad. They also mentioned how big children have grown and some are even scared of their appearance but Lorna mentioned that the parents need to play their role and keep talking to their children and advising them even though schools reopen. After this Lorna left for Jinja.
