- Introduction
Lorna went to Mpumiro to carry out an assessment as well as to teach personal hygiene. The assessment helps to know how much knowledge and understanding the community has concerning the Life Skills topics. The personal hygiene is to create a Awareness concerning our hygiene habits and to improve where need arises.
Overview
On the way to the village, Lorna tried calling three different people to inform them of her coming but the phones weren’t going through but after a while she managed to reach Muhammad the secretary whom she informed that she was on her way and he told her it is okay and gave her a go ahead. However on reaching the village, she found the chairman, Muhammad and a few others who mentioned that unfortunately they cannot have the meeting since they lost someone from Bufula village a nearby village and the person is known in their community. The chairman also mentioned that there was a primary sevens parents meeting at the school . Lorna asked why she wasn’t told all this on phone and they said network but Muhammad apologized and asked to reschedule.
The women also asked to change the meeting place as it may seem far. This was discussed in the previous leaders meeting and they agreed that the secondary school was where they usually meet even after walking around where Lorna noticed this place was far but ,they assured her it was the best. Mpumiro homes are spaced not near each other as such. They therefore agreed to change the meeting place to near the chairman’s home.
Conclusion
It was quite unfortunate that this meeting didn’t happen but we scheduled for next and hoping for a better turn up.
