Notes
Jeska went to Naibowa village to follow up on stove building progress and follow up on smearing of the home facilities. She reached in the village and found the chairperson of the Healthy and safe kitchen program Nabirye Juliet who told her that they have just lost one residence who died of cancer. She told her that the number of people who may attend the meeting might be low since some participants have gone to the funeral. Jeska waited at the meeting place and later own some other few people turned up. She asked them to update her as far as building stoves is concerned. Participants told her that they had planned to meet and chop grass as group in preparation of continuous building stoves unfortunately they have lost a resident which has divided them up. However they told her that after burial they will meet and chop grass so that next time kibo goes back to their village they will find a big progress or even when they had build at least two stoves. Jeska encouraged them to work hard because the healthy and safe kitchen program is about to slow going to their village. She also encouraged every one in the group to ensure that learns how to build stoves and get a stove in his or her home. She also reminded them that once they learn how to build stoves they can market their skill to earn a living. She later walked around the homes inspecting their home facilities and found when some participants had backslid as far as smearing is concerned and she reminded them to smear them again. She also told them to put in their kitchens firewood risen stands stock them with firewood which they can use when the rain season begins or during time of scarcity. She also encouraged those with stoves to use them on daily basis, to avoid using the three stone fire by taking them out of their kitchens to avoid being tempted to cook on them. The participants promised to improve, mobilize and encourage each other to do so.
