Notes
Tom are a visit to Mpumiro to meet with the village leaders and introduce the idea of water to the village. When Tom arrived, he found when the chairman of the village was moving around the encouraging residents on dish rack construction and he was also helping one of the residents construct a good dish rack. When he saw Tom, he claimed to the meeting place and other committee members also come. Tom first asked about the sanitation program and how it’s moving. The chairman said he has been encouraging residents on dish rack constructions as well as encouraging residents on emptying their rubbish pits. He said the program was moving well and that residents were embracing sanitation and hygiene. After the discussion, Tom broke the news to the committee that kibo was considering giving the village of Mpumiro a borehole. This news was very exciting and the members were very happy and very thankful to kib was such an offer. One of the committee members said that their current borehole by the primary school is very crowded and breaks often. She said this was going to help reduce pressure of the other one and also reduce the time spent at the borehole as their always many people. She even said currently the borehole is broken and most residents are getting those water at the swamp. Tom also advised the committee on what its needed for that to be fulfilled. He mentioned that sanitation and hygiene is key as well as working together towards raising funds that will be needed for the borehole. The chairman said he was going to make sure that the sanitation and hygiene is maintaining and areas that need improvements are improved upon. Tom mentioned that he will meet with the community members during the next first to select the water user com, committee after which the committee will be trained of their roles and responsibilities before the borehole is drilled
