Notes
Harriet and Tape went to Ndalike village to teach participants how to practically build stoves. They found when the participants had already gathered at the meeting place. They had also identified the two participants who were to get demonstration stoves and these were the Chairperson LC1 Anthony and Nangobi. Kibo staff divided the participants into two groups where by one group went to Anthony’s home while another one went to Nangobi’s home. Harriet joined the group that went to Anthony’s home while another group at Nangobi’s home was joined by Tape. Each group was guided / joined by kibo staff whereby they collected water, banana stems, termite dirt from the anti hill together. Kibo staff demonstrated to them how to mix grass and termite dirt as the participants were watching. After kibo staff sprinkled water in the mixture and asked the participants in each group to join in stamping grass . It was very interesting to see every one in the group participant in gin stamping the dirt. And this was done as participants sang songs of success and remaining each to participate in the program from the beginning to the end . Later own kibo staff in each group built a demonstration stove as they explained the whole process to the participants while encouraging them to watch and understand because later they will be asked to practice in building stoves. Two demonstration stoves were successfully built by kibo staff as the community watched. Kibo staff thanked the community for participating and tasked them to prepare them self the next time kibo is teaching them how to build stoves to be ready to participate because practice makes perfect and the program targets participate to learn how to build stoves. The community thanked kibo for giving them an opportunity of getting stoves. They promised to stay working together until the end of the program.
