Kitchens visit households

Village
Ituba Namalowe
Program
Healthy and Safe Kitchens
Notes
Suzan went to the village to carry out the first evaluation process which was very important. This was to find out if the members were effectively cooking on their improved fuel efficient stoves or any challenges they faced while cooking on them. It was also important to find out if the members had improved on their facilities such as smearing all their houses, construction of the firewood storages in the kitchens and if there were more stoves built by the members. Suzan was able to evaluate 17 homes that day with the help of some members who walked her home to home. Each was was found cooking on their new improved stoves and most facilities were well maintained such as smeared kitchens, shower areas, latrines, well dug rubbish pits and firewood storages. About three stoves needed to be repaired and smeared because they had big crakes threatening to split up. Suzan thanked the members for improving on their facilities and requested them to always maintain the same spirit of working together for an effective development. But because of the time and wether which was changing so fast, Suzan promised to go back to the village and finish up with the evaluation process.
