- Notes
- Tom made a visit to kalalu village to check on sanitation and hygiene improvements as well as facility constructions. Tom and the committee members moved in the upper section of the village.
With the group, they moved around in homes checking on latrines being constructed, dish racks, rubbish pits and hand washing stands.
In the first three homes visited, they found when one of the homes has a newly constructed latrine and the other two had dish racks already constructed.
Tom and the committee members encouraged the members to construct the hand washing stands.
In other homes they found newly constructed hand washing stands. Tom encouraged the village residents to continue practicing and embracing hand washing to prevent diseases.
One of the committee members from the upper section took the rest of the committee members as well as Tom to one of the homes that are stubborn and are yet to construct their latrine. The family dug a pit for the Latrine but they are yet to construct on it. Tom and the committee members encouraged the resident to work hard and finish their latrine as its important for them to have a latrine in their home to prevent open defecation.
In other homes, Tom and the committee members encouraged residents to work and improve on their sanitation and hygiene so that they live healthy lives.
Mr Mulega one of the committee members encouraged one resident about improving on his kitchen and latrine. The kitchen and latrine were in bad shape but the resident promised to work and improve on them. Mr Mulega promised to go back to the home and check on the improvements
