Notes
Enock went to check on the latrine construction, dish racks, hand washing sanitation and implementation of ideas of sustainable development, assess, evaluate the progress. There has been great changed and transformation in many homes as well as lives of the residents. There has been reduction in cases of diarrhea, dysentery and typhoid among other diseases. There are many people who testify and most of them are the local leaders and VHTs who help to distribute medicines to the residents. There are so many newly improved latrines constructed well with bricks and cement. There has been great improvement in sanitation and hygiene levels and few homes which are still lagging behind. I was super excited to see some new hand washing stations. The chairman and VHTs are encouraging all the residents to finish up the remaining facilities to construct good structures which will last them longer. I emphasized standardization of all the facilities. The residents have greatly embraced the program and those who have finished constructing hand washing stands are asking for jerrycans. I told them to be patient we are looking for jerrycans and when we get them we shall deliver to them. At the min time I encouraged them to use there small jerrycans as soap to always wash there hand before eating anything. Many people have understood the core values and importance of all these facilities, when you reach there homes, you can tell through observation how they clean there homes, use ash in latrines and use their rubbish pits to effectively. We encouraged those who are still lagging behind to put more effort on constructing and complete all the facilities.
