Alex while in Butabira village moved around the village with the sanitation committee members checking on sanitation improvements and standards and encouraging all community members to maintain the required sanitation standards. This community has shown great improvements and every home visited is proud to show what they have done. The compounds are well swept and all the homes with hand washing stands have jerrycans with water and are being used frequently. Alex continued to encourage the village residents to keep up the good standards in their Homes and should encourage each other to maintain the required sanitation facility standards. Alex then moved to the borehole to check on the borehole wall fence that was recently constructed at the borehole to check if a good job was done. It was indeed observed that the village did what exactly Kibo Group’s Alex guided them to do and the wall fence looks very strong and meets the standards. The water and sanitation committee members together with all the water users are so happy to see this completed fence at their borehole and so proud of it being the first kind of fence in the sub county. A team from another NGO was in the village and appreciated the work kibo has done in this village and asked how this borehole wall fence is constructed after admiring the work done. They loved the idea so much and felt like sharing this idea with other communities where they work. It’s such a cool idea that this wall fence saves the environment and minimize the challenges of a wooden fence. The sanitation and water committee members appreciated kibo group for the work done in their village and are so proud of this idea of a wall fence at the borehole. This is the first kind of fence in the sub county and Alex encouraged them to sale this idea to other surrounding communities. The committee members were continued to be prepared and involve all the community members as Kibo group prepares to drill a new borehole in this village. Alex will continue to prepare the village for the steps in borehole drilling. The village residents will continue to be encouraged to maintain their hygiene and sanitation facility standards.
