Notes
Enock made a visit in this community to check on the progress of sanitation improvements and follow up on the solution spoke about in the previous meeting where all members agreed that all the residents have to complete latrine construction and other facilities before the end of the month. Enock walked in homes around the trading centre where he first check on the homes of the local leaders and saw new improved latrine structures, shower areas and hand washing stands. The homes which have shops, we encouraged them to build hand washing stands right in front of their shops where customers have to first wash hands before getting to the shop. This will keep proper sanitation and hygiene in the community. When we spoke to most of the owners of the shop, they liked the idea they embraced it and promised to construct the hand washing stations. During the assessment and evaluation of all homes around the trading centre, there has been increase in sanitation , construction of new and standard latrine and created behavioral change. This is observed when there is on open defecation around home near the trading centre before the wash program entered. I was so impressed to see change in many homes and proper use of latrines as well as ash to clean the latrines. Most of there homes are well swept clean and use of rubbish pits. After the meeting we had, many people went back home empowered to encourage each other and work hard to improve on all their sanitation facilities. The pix axes are super busy right now, other people are buying cement to cement hand washing stands.

17142 This is a latrine constructed, I encouraged them to reconstruct a good structure and place good roof
17145 The latrine in this picture is almost falling apart. The good news is they constructed a new hand washing station. The family is planning to construct a new latrine since the old latrine is almost falling. We encouraged them to construct a good latrine which suits there home
