Notes
Enock went this community to check on the homes which are still lagging behind and also follow up on hand washing stations as well as encourage and emphasize standardization of facilities since it’s so important to construct and maintain the facilities well. When Enock reached, he met with the local leaders and the sanitation team which teamed up to walk the home of Mr. Tibasula Fred whose latrine had broken due to heavy rainfall but this resulted due to poor construction. This gave us an opportunity to teach him how to construct a good standard latrine with proper firm foundation to give it a base to construct a good structure. In the home of Bawalane Samwiri, Nkomo Simon and Gwede Silaji who we met having latrines under construction. There are also new hand washing stands which are being constructed. There are many people who are busy working on hand washing stands and took the initiative to buy cement so that they can get a jerrycan from Wash team when they complete the stands. We emphasize the use of ash in many latrines which were smelling badly, empowered the local leaders to also take the lead in encouraging the residents to work so hard to see that there village develops. There are few home which we are focusing on so that we can start working on the last evaluation survey. The community chairman and his team are appreciative for the work kibo group has done in there community to improve on their sanitation and hygiene. They say we have greatly encouraged and empowered them to stand with confidence while addressing there fellow residents who before didn’t respect them. Many families have United and increased cooperation amongst them selves.
