Notes
Suzan went to the village purposely to meet the community members and guide them in selecting their own committee group leaders who will coordinate with the healthy and safe kitchens program even when Kibo staff were absent. When she arrived there she was welcomed by some members who had already gathered at the meeting place near the borehole. They sat down together and Suzan explained to them the purpose and importance of always selecting the committee group leaders in the village. The committee group leaders would continue to ran the stove program even after the Kibo staff members had phased out from the village. She requested them to be very careful while selecting their leaders and to make sure the members selected were active and hardworking enough most especially the chairperson and the mobilizers. The members gave names and voted for their own leaders such as the chairperson, secretary, treasurer, time keeper, disciplinary officer and mobilizers. Suzan went ahead and explained to the members the importance of each leader so that they would understand their roles very well. The members appreciated the new ideas and promised to always work hard together with their leaders so as to make the program more effective. They thanked Suzan for the lessons and the meeting came to an end.
