Notes
Enock met with the chairman and VHTs to first talk about how the village is progressing with the improvement in sanitation, check on the progress of latrine construction, dish racks, shower areas, kitchen area, rubbish pits as well as focusing on hand washing facilities and the importance, use of Ash in latrines, effective use and maintenance of all the facilities, proper drainage system say making soak pits where the water from the shower areas goes to. There are 4 families which have new pits dug about 15ft and above . They are planning to make bricks to construct on them although they have the old ones in place. Most of the homes Enock moved in have managed to maintain their home sanitation, clean compounds and good hygiene. The community members were urged to continue embracing the program, encourage the fellow neighbours to have good standard facilities. There are many smeared facilities in the homes, proper use of Rubbish pits and disposal of rubbish. There are about 8 homes in this village which haven’t completed the construction of their latrines. The VHTs have been doing a great job of monitoring, evaluating and moving around the community to teach even though the kibo guys are not on the ground. Enock was impressed in the homes of the VHTs as they have constructed good structures with bricks, sand and cement. They really show a good example to the residents. This village would be so perfect to bring in the stoves program to start teaching them how to make wood saving stoves since they have good kitchen areas.

2153 This lady called Joy Namukose. She is so happy having a new shower area in his home. I remember last year when I visited her home she didn’t have it. She is excited to have it and will to have it because she can now take showers even during the day unlike before when she used to only shower in the night.
2156 This is a new latrine constructed in this home
2159 In the picture, it shows the house for living in, kitchen areas well smeared and the dish rack. This is one of the most organized homes in this community
