Lesson Taught
Anger Lesson 10: Keeping a handle on anger\r
Notes
Ida went to Naibowa and taught about how to handle Anger. She asked the community to tell her some ways they manage Anger, Kabasomi Margaret said that she puts water in her mouth to stop her from talking. Nkoboli said that he walks away and go to his friends or to the garden. Nairuba Scovia said that she goes to the garden. Henry Atwooki asked what if the Anger attacked you at night? do you still go to the garden or walk away? Margaret confirmed her answer and said put water in your mouth. Ida gave them some tips on how to handle Anger. 1. Acknowledge the Anger. Accept that Anger is a natural human emotion. Don't deny that you are angry. 2. Control thoughts. Problems with anger begin with thoughts of self- pity, disappointment, jealousy. 3 Challenge Irrational beliefs. If we are frequently angry, we need to challenge our belief structure. It is not healthy to expect children to always be good. Every one should acknowledge that growing old and becoming ill is part of life. When beliefs fit reality, Anger becomes less of a problem. Bitu asked " Is Anger a sin?" The question was open to every one. Some man said that it is not a sin because Jesus was also angry but the Bible says that He never sinned.
