Notes
Enock made a visit in this community to check on the progress of hand washing construction in this community. We triggered a week ago and today we decided to check on the progress of hand washing construction after learning the core purpose and importance of hand washing before eating anything, feeding babies, and after using or visiting the latrine. As we walked around the community with the local leaders say chairman vice chairman and VHT called frank we saw many new hand washing stands which are constructed so neatly with cement and sand as well as using the jerrycans to washes there hands. I saw about 25 new had washing stands which are completed and most homes have constructed two stands, one is built at the main entrance of the main house as you turn to their homes and the second one is build right at the front or corner of the latrine. Whoever has completed constructing a new hand washing stand, he or she is entitled to get one jerrycans donated to them from kibo group as a support to promote hand washing in communities. The village residents are super excited and happy for the new program. They have greatly embraced the progress as we reminded them about the many diseases and challenges which are caused due to poor sanitation and hand washing methods leading to diseases like diarrhea, cholera, dysentery, typhoid and many bacteria infections that lead many expenses and expenditure. The local leaders are so impressed and encouraging the residents to continue improving their sanitation and hygiene.
