Notes
Suzan went to the village to follow up on the stove building, smearing of buildings, construction of firewood storages and stove usage. When she arrived there, she found some few committee group leaders at the meeting place with the group chairperson who warmly welcomed her to the village. Together they first sat down and discussed about the program activities going on such as building stoves for new members which was still going on especially at the neighboring villages and continuous smearing of the buildings. Some members had improved on their facilities such as smearing their houses and constructing firewood storages in the kitchens. Later after, Suzan walked with two of the committee group members while monitoring different facilities. It was observed that most homes were neatly smeared and the facilities well maintained such as the bathrooms, latrines, saving stoves and dish racks. Although most facilities were well maintained, Suzan observed that a few kitchens needed to be repaired and roofed because they still had big openings which let the rains in. Suzan requested the owners especially the husbands to the women to help them repair their kitchens and other facilities which were destroyed by previous storms while their wives carried out other simple activities such as cooking, smearing houses and fetching firewood. She also requested those who didn’t have the firewood storages to construct them so that they would be able to save more firewood before heavy rainfalls. She thanked all the members for the good work done and the meeting came to an end.
