Notes
Tape went to the village to practically teach the community members how to remove the banana stems from the previously built fuel efficient stove. This was important because since the program was just beginning, the members needed to learn all the different skills of building the fuel efficient stoves. When she arrived, she went to the home where they had built the first demonstration stove and found a few participants already gathered under a tree. She was warmly welcomed to the village and without wasting much time, tape requested a few members at ago to enter into the kitchen with her and stand aside as she went ahead to demonstrate how the banana stems are taken out. Tape explained to the members every single step so that they learn easily. She also told the members how it was very important to learn the skill of removing the banana stems out of the built stove, and that without doing it right the stove would get destroyed or fail to cook food as expected. Finally after taking out the stems, she requested the owner of the kitchen madam Easter to keep on smearing it at least once or twice in a month so as to avoid cracking. Tape also requested the participants not to cook on the stoves before they made one month because by that time it will have dried up and stable enough. She thanked all the members for attending the lessons and requested them to continue cutting the grass together for building other demonstration stoves, and also to keep smearing their buildings. The members were so grateful for the lessons taught and promised to always work together as a team for an effective development.
