Notes
Diana went to Bukudhumira to teach about parenting. The community was ready to start the lesson, they welcomed us and thanked us for loving them. Diana took them through a recap about Harmon and unity in marriage, Fazira said, she learnt to respect her husband, to love him to care for him., Charles for him, he learnt to help the wife in cooking, bathing the children, praying with his family, listening to one another, exercising patience. This was good because it showed that the community is always attentive. Diana thanked them and encouraged them to always be attentive during the lesson time. Diana took the community through parenting lesson. She told them, good parenting involves a great consistency and routine which gives children a sense of control. It also focuses on developing independence in children. Diana asked them how they take care of their children in the community, Hawa said, she teaches them how to pray greet big people and also help with house chores. Diana told them that parenting starts from the time of conception to the time children group to turn into adults. Fathers have to touch the womb of their wives and speak positive words to their babies, even when they are born they need to bless them. Parents need to be good role models to their children, they need to show love to their children, stay in control of their emotions. Be there for your children. Diana elaborated on these points. Sarah one of the old women kept on emphasizing on the points I gave . She encouraged the parents to pay attention to every word that is being taught. The community was very happy, Sam said that they thank for making Kibo take such good programs to them. Way back they didn’t know how to take care of their children, but now these lessons have opened their eyes and mind. The chairman thanked Kibo for being there for them, they should keep giving them such beautiful programs. Because he has truly seen some change in his community.
