Notes
Martin and Steven were in Busene, they walked around the village with the Chairman LC1 and the sanitation committee members. Their intention was to check on the new home facilities and encouraging the community members how construct them in a better way. Good enough, the big number of homes are busy working on their new home facilities like digging the new pit latrines, kitchens, rubbish pits, shower areas and dish racks. For example Moses Musasizi, he worked on the better shower area and the new latrine 15ft, it’s under construction, the Chairman LC1’s kitchen and the new pit latrine, it’s under construction, Tony Agwana’s new dish rack, it’s under construction, Fred Musasizi’s new pit, it’s under construction and Abyasali Mpanga decided his older kitchen, because it’s still strong. The reason why the residents are putting much effort on latrines, if someone don’t have a latrine at home, that is the major problem which can case some diseases like malaria, diarrhea and typhoid which is cased by flies and sometimes can bring poverty, by spending a lot of money in hospitals. But Martin, Steven and the group was putting much effort on encouraging the community members, to work hard on their home facilities on their own, not because kibo is telling them work. So that they can do other things like working in their gardens, because it’s now a rain season, so that they can have enough food in their homes And the village leaders told the kibo staff that, according to how they have seen the value of the sanitation program, they are willing to work with kibo, because it’s their responsibility even in the government policy. And kibo also is willing to work with them. As kibo have just started working in that village, the group walked in 34homes.
