Notes
Martin and Steven were in Busene, they walked around the village with the Chairman LC1 and the sanitation committee members, to check on the sanitation and hygiene improvement. The reason why we always work with the Chairman LC1 and the sanitation sanitation committee members, those are the people who are staying in the village. And they are also willing to work with kibo encouraging the residents about their sanitation facilities. And even in the government policy, it’s their responsibility to encourage the community members to work on their sanitation facilities like latrines, dish racks, kitchens, rubbish pits and shower areas. In the 32homes, the group walked in, some homes have worked hard on their new home facilities and others are still working on them like Grace Kasata, he is digging the new pit latrine, it’s under construction, Muhammad Basikoki’s new dish rack, it’s under construction, Moses Magoma, he is continuing to dig his new pit latrine, it’s now 12ft deep. So the work of the group on that, was just encouraging the residents about the standards and maintenance. Because people have been working on them, because kibo is telling them to do. Generally according to what the group saw in that village, they is some improvement and they only much encouragement. As kibo is still working in that community as well as the village, the group walked in 32homes.
